Priests of the diocese and Bishop Fintan pray and reflect on future of the diocese

Bishop Fintan Gavin has organised the second meeting of all the priests of the diocese since he was ordained bishop. The meeting was attended by almost 100 priests who hold appointments in the diocese.

Bishop Fintan addressed the priests and outlined key elements which need to be included in planning for the future. The meeting was also addressed by some of the priests who outlined ways they are developing initiatives with Bishop Fintan and others.

The clergy discussed all they heard and reported back to the full meeting.

Bishop Fintan presided at the Concelebrated Mass and was joined by Bishop John Buckley, Archbishop Patrick Coveney and several of the retired priests of the diocese along with those who had attended the meeting.

The day concluded with a sociable evening meal.

Meeting the clergy is one of several initiatives Bishop Fintan is taking to get to know and listen to all the people of the diocese. He is also visiting parishes, meeting religious, organising meetings with young people as well as representatives of parish pastoral councils.
